Our original logo shows our history, originally 5 separate shelters, Hope Shelter, The Gateway, Florence Booth House, Evangeline Residence, and Maxwell Meighen Centre, which integrated into Toronto Housing & Homeless Supports (THHS) in 2014.
In April 2015, Hope Shelter closed its doors at College and McCaul following the landlord’s sale of the building. After a long search for a new property, The Salvation Army opened New Hope Leslieville in January 2018. Booth Supportive Services also integrated with THHS from 2016-2020 providing wrap-around community support for those with concurrent disorders. In December 2018, we continued to expand with the opening of Islington Senior’s Shelter. Since December 2022, two hotel locations hosting three programs have been added as temporary emergency shelters helping to address the high demand for shelter by providing much-needed extra accommodation.
Just like our constantly changing city our buildings and services may change, but our vision and journey towards H.O.M.E. remains the same.
